SOAS Curling Society

Our budget has been allocated, and unfortunately we will only be able to do one curling trip for up to 8 people this term. In order to find the best date to book with Fenton’s Rink in Kent, we ask students who wish to come curling with us to indicate which times of the week they are generally available from the following form. Please copy and paste it into an e-mail and send it to hansbe@soas.ac.uk – and we will keep you up to date on the trip.

By submitting your timetable, you are not committing to come curling. The price will be around £20 per person at the most, including return travel to Kent.

After being reintroduced as an Olympic sport in 2006, curling has reached new audiences and is once again considered a proper sport. Unfortunately, there are few opportunities to learn and practice this tactical game, and that is where the SOAS Curling Society comes in! This term, we plan to travel twice to a curling rink in Kent, and play curling under guidance from experienced curlers. We will also facilitate curling screenings (at least the finals) during the Vancouver Olympics this winter. So whether you want to learn how to play curling or simply love to watch curling and learn more about the sport, the SOAS Curling Society is for you.
